Living in Low Income Neighborhoods

Living in low income neighborhoods:

When living in low income neighborhoods, people choose to live the project lifestyle.

You normally see young girls having babies and on welfare. It's a shame because they're babies themselves, and you see a lot of drug addiction.

With the laziness and negative energy all around such as drug dealers selling drugs to their own people and killing one another with illegal substances. However, there are a lot of young drop outs with no hope for the future whatsoever. But not all are drop outs and they have the one's who live in this environment that really go to school because they're aiming for a better life outside the project life.

In this environment, there are some who have limited education with a Master's degree but choose to live in that particular environment and live a certain lifestyle. These days, you have to work extremely hard to live a lavish and comfortable lifestyle, but if you don't have a financial plan, then you have no choice but to live in a low income neighborhood because of your income.

Newsflash: You can't raise your children in that type of environment because they become immune to the lifestyle and behavior which is not healthy. Now some people's first move is to live in a low income neighborhood which is not too bad because you have to start somewhere in order to make it because the cost of living in a low income neighborhood is decent because gas and utilities are included. But overall, think of the crime rate and the murders and the corner people who sell drugs and deal with guns and want to destroy the community by their actions and the things that they do that can jeopardize your safety and home life and some people don't want to live there because they feel it's too dangerous for them and their family. Now a days, the cost of living is so high and that's what certain people could afford and most say they'd rather live in a house because of the urine infested staircases, hall ways, and elevators that they have to deal with on an everyday basis, and some rather own their own property. Although, most people that live in the projects have told me that life living in a low income neighborhood is what you make it, and they don't like to mess with the outside world because the outside world is usually trouble and you should trust no one and just live your life and keep yourself out of trouble and your nose clean. Although, the one's who are drug dealers or most would call the street pharmacists choose to sell drugs instead of getting a 9-5 job because they can't handle the competition in the job market while out there getting themselves caught out there with the street life and bringing so much attention to themselves with the cops and not caring about themselves or their family. There are the dealers and hustlers living in low income that are paroled there when they get out of jail because they've committed crimes in the past. Although, low income neighborhoods are known for people who are on parole because the chances are is that these parolees usually know someone who live in the neighborhood projects whether it's a friend or family member but depending on where they're paroled, they are usually forced to live in shelters or just the projects and some get caught by their parole officers for doing something illegal out of the projects and end up back in the same predicament or worse than ever before and ruining their chances of ever renting in the housing area because the neighborhood housing projects is really strict on illegal activities that is why you see what you see in this type of environment.

To the brothers and sisters living in the projects, you have to take it easy and start caring about yourselves and stop doing things to jeopardize your lives. We need to start living right because all of that illegal stuff have to go and you're killing yourselves in the process.

However, living in the projects is no too bad considering that if you need to groom yourself, there are barbers needed in the community and there is a lot of barbershop competition in the area. In low income neighborhoods, everyone wants and need a haircut and if you really think about it, with these businesses everyone is competing with each other over customers and the same thing goes for the beauty shops and business that's out there. But don't get it twisted, it's not just those particular neighborhoods that's in competition with each other.

But know that: Competition comes with every business whether it's in the projects or not.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that all low income neighborhoods are bad, it's just certain boroughs that are bad and dangerous to a point where people don't even like to leave the house at all because they fear for their lives. Now the people that are not really used to the project lifestyle that drive fancy cars, don't like to park their cars when visiting a person in that environment because of the fear that their car will get stolen and some feel that white people are going to basically take over because of the rent that is sky high, to a point that the blacks will not be able to live there.

But get this: It's not really about race and the issue of skin color. It's just that rent is going up as the years go by and people should know that and shouldn't be on the race tip of black and white. These days, even studio apartments are getting to be expensive and it comes to a point where there won't be anymore section 8. So to all the people out there that are trying to get a section 8 apartment because Section 8 is not ever promised and it's a long waiting process. Get it together!

It's alright to live in the projects, but just because you live in the projects, it doesn't define who you are as a person.

You should never judge a book by it's cover or home life!
