Advice for Finding Hen Friendly Hotels and AccomodationAlthough hen parties away are as good as the norm these days, many hotels are still not prepared to have hen-party groups to stay. Here are a number of tips on securing accommodation for a hen night.
Firstly, asking if a hotel will take hen-parties. Very often a hotels official line is that they do not cater for hen parties, while their unofficial line is if the hotel is quiet there isn’t a problem. Lets not forget hotels can make a substantial amount of money from hen nights. So when ringing a hotel rather than blatantly asking them if they are hen party friendly simply tell them you are looking to book however many bedrooms for a night. A hotel that has a strict ‘no hen party’ policy will at this point ask you if you are a hen party and politely refuse you. Most will simply turn a blind eye if they are quiet. Secondly when looking to book a hotel for a hen party very often it is the four and five star hotels that will have a hen free policy. If you are hell bent on stylish accommodation, follow point one above, otherwise stick instead to 3 star accommodation or travel lodge type accommodation that will not have issues with hen nights. The third approach to booking hen party accommodation, somewhere you are unsure they will take a hen party is to come very clean, but with the assurance of good behaviour. This is not an option for wild crazy hen parties that are going to continue the party back at the hotel. This option is for genuinely small hens. Tell reservations you are a small hen party and not having a wild night. That you are going for a nice meal and a few drinks and will be going straight to bed after the club. Otherwise if the hen-party turns up and it is obvious it is a hen, the hotel may have issues. Holiday homes are a good alternative to hotels for hen night accommodation. They can also work out cheaper than staying in hotels and guesthouses. Very often holiday homes will ask for a deposit up front. Others will have a minimum stay of two nights. But aside from this holiday homes can be perfect accommodation for hen parties. Check out times are generally more flexible and the after-club party doesn’t have to stay quiet or end early because of other guests. When looking for hen accommodation be prepared for the fact some places will just say no. But the important point is if this happens don’t lose heart and try applying some of the tips above to get the accommodation you are looking for. Category: Women Issues |
